Chris,
I should have clarified that the bump out on the 221 table that only shows when the cutout insert is removed. The bump out on the 301 table is seen on the insert. Sorry if that caused you any confusion, Cathy Chris |
Oh good! I was afraid that I had thoroughly confused you.

Cathy, Thanks for clarifying but it didn't cause me any confusion when you had described my table to a "T". Just for grins & giggles, I tried putting my 301 into the slot but alas had no luck as she's too big. It is okay, I did want a FW table but would rather have it been a 301 table. Perhaps one day, I'll come across a reasonably priced one.

I have a question (again) how do you get the lens cover off of this light? I can hear the bulb rattling around in there. The 99 motor runs beautiful and the rest work great Except someone tried to fix the upper thread tension, it's a mess. not all of the parts are there some are backwards and I think some are harvested from another model machine!

I think you will need to look at the manual - those are a spring loaded thing with the lens - Getting it out is easier than getting it put back. You would do a whole lot better getting a light from IKEA to set nearby and shine where you want it to go. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20169658/ and the black ones look so pretty with the black machines.....

I am 2 hours away from IKEA one way. |
Windblown,
Those lights have a wavy spring under the fish eye lens. If it gets rusty or full of lint it's hard to compress. You need to push in on the lens and rotate it one third or so of a turn. In my opinion, not one of Singers better designs. Joe |
I've never found replacing the bulb difficult...go figure. The key is to push the lens up evenly.
|
I was able to see the lamp from the IKEA site. $9.99. The nearest one to me is about 2 hrs. one way.

Thank you Joe, I will try tomorrow A.M. this afternoon it was 97 and this guy, I have named him Audie for Audie Murphy, is out in the garage right now. I just wanted to try to get the light to work and with that split ring around the front I had no idea how to.
