Hey QuilterGuy,

How tall are you? I am not trying to get personal, but if you have a greater than 32" inseam, you will have trouble sitting and pushing the foot controller comfortably on this one with out banging your knee or knocking a hole in the cabinet.

Ask me how I know ;-)

My 301 I acquired last Friday came in this exact cabinet. Did you notice the built in electric foot controller at the inside right bottom? It pulls out for use and slide back in for storage.

Ask them if the portable foot controller is still in the cabinet. It will be hanging on the inside right of the horizontal door on the right. It should be in a bracket above the drawers, mounted on the side wall. It could also be seen from the top when taking the machine out of its cradle/mounting.

I like this cabinet if the knees would fit.

Aardie.

We have this exact cabinet with a 301. DH is taller. Let me ask with lunch. Also I wonder if you can lift it if you want it taller. DH did this with our 66 treadle cabinet so now it is almost 3 inches up. A little under one inch on the bottom and about two inches above the top of the metal stand. He put small wooden blocks on the top of the metal stand and lifted the whole top and machine that way nearly 2 inches. No belt yet but it is more comfortable petalling.

DH does not share my exctiement over old machines, so not sure he would want me to spend the $$$. Oh well, guess someone else will have to get it!

I have to admit, it is very tempting and only about 20 miles from where I am but I don't have the extra cash at the moment :(

Been searching CL today. Billy came across this one. thought you might want to see it, since you are into the Japanese machines.

Would you refinish it or just clean it up ?

Clean the machine and be very careful doing that, the decals look wonderful and you dont see many 27's with that one on it. The cabinet you can use Charlee's refinishing guide here in the VSMS but I done remember what page it is one.

I love your machine!!!!!

Billy

Got the machine! This little box with attachments came with it... what do you think of it? Is the box worth anything?
