I havent found that stupid button yet. :(
I am fixing to add on to the studio so I will be able to find my parts better and keep the quilting and machine collection separate. But I am not giving up yet. Oh and about the timing I do not know why people think these machines get out of time so much. I have worked on Lord knows how many machines and have only run across 1 that was out of time. How that happened I could never figure it out unless some idiot was messing with it thinking that was the reason it was not picking up the thread. Billy |

Hope someone can help me with this one. I have a 1891 New Home coffin top treadle. The extension of the wooden top was missing when I bought it. I managed to find the wrought iron bracket that supports it when it is up. What I need is a measurement of the dimension of the extension. Any brand of machine would be fine as long as it is a coffin top. Then I can get someone to make me one.

Well this has been an exciting three days! I haven't been a member of this board for long and I'm trying to catch up. I was reading the boards and remarked to my husband that I wish I had an old treadle machine. He said "You do." I didn't know what he was talking about. He went into his garage and about an hour later he comes out with a treadle machine that belonged to his Grandmother. It's a model 66-1 born sometime in 1903 number K1221977. Then he says "If you like old machines hang on!", he disappears for about 30 minutes into his garage and comes out with a model 128 electric born in 1922 serial number G9227999! THEN he goes back into his garage and another 30 mins. goes by and out comes an electric 1925 model 127 serial no. AA786804! I'm doing the Happy Dance!!!! Now, they are in okay shape but desparately need some TLC. I am determined to restore these babies as much as I can. I do remember seeing a tutorial or board message on how to clean these up but can't find it again. Can someone tell me where to find it? In the meantime I plan to worship at this mans feet! How lucky can I get? I wonder what else he has in that garage of his?! Thanks for the info. I wasn't really planning on doing anything with the timing since all my machines seem to be working fine, but I thought with all the talk maybe it was something to be concerned about. Now I will stop worrying about a non-issue. |
Gosh, all "old Girls" on this page are really something. And to think they have been hiding in the garage all this time. I have a lotus and just love it. What's the name of the red decals on the 127? That one is pretty too.
