Well, I drove to Frankston to get one Borletti and I ended up with two! Such twists and turns of fate...
For starters, I would NEVER go to Frankston if it wasn't to pick up this machine. But people have been saying to me for ages that the Frankston 'Savers' store is the best, so I thought I might as well check that out while I was picking up the machine. So I drove to Savers and then the shop was empty - they closed down last year. But I spied a thrift store across the road (we call them Opportunity Shops or "Op Shops" here) so I decided to check that out instead.

It was a VERY nice store.. Good quality items and all nicely displayed and thoughtfully ticketed and priced. It wasn't super cheap but still within the realms of reality :) I got all the way to the back of the store before I saw the Singer 66 lotus treadle in a lovely 6/7 drawer cabinet. $700!!! I nearly had a heart attack... and then a nice lady told me it was half price. I thanked her and kept looking. But something was bugging me. Someone had bolted an electric Singer light to the rear inspection plate of the machine. Given they were asking so much for it, I thought I had better point out that this might be off-putting for some people.

We got talking about how I knew about machines and I told her I collected them, but that I preferred European machines, or Italian machines. She said, "I have one of those out the back ...I think it begins with B." She let me have a look at the machines they had in the back room that were waiting to be tested for electrical safety. There it was - an almost identical green Borletti.... only it was the ZZ version! But even more exciting was the fact that it had the full box of accessories and the original manual. So now I have my beautiful original treadle table, straight stitch machine and the ZZ machine as well!! I've seriously never seen one of these machines in two years of looking.

So here they are. "Isa" and "Bella" ;)

Wow, what a find and I mean both! I've never seen one in person. You're a lucky girl!

I have one of those and looking for the manual. Mine says ZZ18591.it is in a nice table. I posted a picture off it.
Any way of getting a copy of the manual?

David posted a picture of his machine at https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...r-t320162.html

David "frudemoo" hasn't been on Quilting Board for a number of years. You might try sending a private message, perhaps still has the same email and is still around, just not signing in to QB.

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.
