I stopped in at the local SA thrift store very near me. Started to walk past the counter and saw a similar but smaller puzzle box. The young lady (about 14 yo) got it for her DGM. I saw her hand over, are you ready? $2.00. I asked if I could just see her puzzle. She knew what I meant. Looked at me and said. Tomorrow is my gma's birthday. I told her she would be excited. $2.00. There were 5 pieces in the box. She told me what they were! Just so very cool when I see a youngster involved in sewing and the machines and parts.

Cathy, thank you so much for posting all this information. I'm glad you explained that the underbraider and screwdriver holder are sometimes reversed because the picture in my documentation does not match my box so I always assumed that it had been re-assembled.

Love your post, but alas I only have one puzzle box and it is not complete.

Wow, so impressive a post, thanks for sharing and educating us, now I have to go look at mine and check it out, but it came with a 27 treadle, so I'm guessing it is as you listed it.

I've seen some that had almost no puzzle box parts. Looks like someone had used the box to put all their 66 attachments inside. Singer has stopped using the puzzle box by the time they came out with model 66.
I'm pretty sure my two are box 11 but one has the 'tool spider' on the other side and was installed incorrectly so box wouldn't close properly, probably why two end panels missing. Also in that one was a clamp used for flexible tubing used in hospital -- maybe stainless steel with patent #758449 took a while to figure out and then wonder why in puzzle box. After some thought I'm wondering if they may have used it to clamp on the end of the treadle belt so it wouldn't fall through the top while threading the rest of it (like putting a clamp clothespin on).

I'd like to find one for the 15 type bobbins for my 15-30 or 15K26.

Macybaby your depth of knowledge never fails to amaze me. You have the makings of a great book there.
