I think we've sorta determined that "vintage" is machines made before plastic gears.

    Do you want "technical?

Antique is one hundred years old. "Vintage" should be accompanied by a year. "Vintage 1923" "Vintage 1956" "Vintage 2004".

As I remember President Lyndon Johnson determined that an item was at antique if it was 100 years old as Charlee stated. I think this was established somehow for foreign import trade.

Thanks very much for satisfying a girl's curiosity

I just wonder now if my old Brother is considered vintage. I'll have to figure out if it has plastic gears I guess!

    Thanks everyone!
