This works up pretty quickly and was first published as Barn Bats by Nancy Cabot in her Oct. 19, 1935 column in the Chicago Tribune. Here's a good tutorial. http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransso...-tutorial.html It's a neat wall hanging for Halloween.

That is so cute. Now I have to go see if I have any Halloween fabrics. If not I know I have blacks and oranges.

    xxxxxxxxxx,
I have a couple of the red belts and you're right about the coating cracking. I've not had any problems with the belts failing, one has been in use with my Pfaff 60 treadle for 3 years; still working just fine.

    GreyQ,
Your batty wall hanging is wonderful! I live in Round Rock,Texas home to a colony of Free Tail bats that have about 1,000,000 bats, they live in the McNeil Road bridge I-35 overpass. This is about 6 miles from where I live.

I have no idea how I got 2 pics up. The next one will line up better. Some of the bats look like hunchbacks. I would adjust the set indent with an extra 1/4". I think it'd be great in black, green & purple, too. I just have loads of orange fabric, Halloweeny fabric, too. I think it'd be so cool in black, gray & brown like real bats, purplefiend. Made & quilted on a 1947 Singer 66-16.

I have just finished the flimsy for quilt for my mother's 90th birthday. It was sewn on my Black short bed 301. It's on its way to a long armer now. My mom picked the pattern, a variation on courthousesteps and the fabric herself. I sew all my quilts on the 301, I love her. I just got a tan longbed 301 that I am cleaning up now. clean as a whistle inside but horrible dirty outside and totally wrong setup for needle ,thread wrapped around bobbin race all the usual messes. (2 photo's?)

I think something changed on QB for posting pics. If you go into advanced mode and scroll down you'll see a box that says "manage attachments". Click that and you can delete the 2nd pictures.

I think I'll post something in the help section just in case it's a problem that needs addressed.
