FW tote
This is not a quilt, but I made it on my 301 with a little help of my serger. I started out just using it for the zipper, but decided to do the whole thing on the 301. That machine just loves to sew!

Janice, what a beautiful quilt! Lucky kids to get that gift! I love the neutral colors too. It will be easy to use that quilt with about any color room!
Grannysewer, I like your bag much better than that tweed suitcase the 301's originally came in! Very nice! You did a great job!
Muv, nice tute on machine applique'! I will try your method, but I will use my 503a, Rocketeer, for the blanket stitch instead of hand stitching! Oh and parchment paper is what we use here - and freezer paper. The parchment paper is not a joke! We all use in cooking and sewing over here all the time!

Hello Nancy-
Glad you enjoyed the machine applique. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Doing blanket stitch by machine might be the one thing that could persuade me into considering getting an electric machine.
Parchment to English ears is what you would buy only if you were seriously keen on calligraphy. Far too expensive to run through the sewing machine!
