Could someone explain "stack wound"? I have a thread tower to dispense thread, as I think the thread should come off the top of cones, but the picture shows it coming off the side. Is there a difference?

I had to look up the difference too. Stack wound is basically wound like your typical spool of thread in nice neat parallel lines. Cones are cross wound. You unroll stack wound spools, on cross wound spools and cones you pull the thread off the end.

Ok, stopped for dinner, and they have wifi. .

This is the featherweight with the 130's spool pin adapter making it more friendly to cross wound thread.

So, thinking about this more, I might try to make one of these for my vintage machines too. If anyone wants the measurements of the original holes, let me know and I'll post them. I got the calipers out of the garage last night and wrote them all down.

Genius: You could sell those. Just paint them black
