Mike, she looks like a cute little gal. I wonder what she would like to sew? There are some good threads on QB about simple sewing projects and there is a ton of stuff on line. Each kid is so different. My oldest grand daughter loves to sew quilts and skirts. The second one loves to create stuff out of felt. She still isn't comfortable with a sewing machine. She is still on the hand crank with paper stage but she is the one with vision problems. The six year old can't remember which way to turn the crank and she can't remember to leave the needle down when she turns a corner so she is not ready to sew with thread yet. Wilbur just wants to party with a sewing machine a can of oil and a screwdriver. It's all good though. Oh and Walter - he is almost 2 and we don't let him near... Well maybe I could pull the needle out.

I bought her a kids sewing book a few weeks ago. She loves gifts but was disappointed when she saw it. Said "no thanks" for the first time ever!

Maybe I should just give up for now: Might make her more interested

You can't force her to want to sew. If she can watch a few easy little things being made maybe...

Just a thought Mike, forbid her to go near that machine. My DGKs lit up big time when I showed them that needle guard. That might be your ticket.

Miriam, your grandkids are so cute!
No they are not the same but I have borrowed from one to another - T&S tension parts have been swiped, too.
