I use to belong to a sewing machine repair group. They recommended Triflow. It was originally used on bicycles I think . It doesn't attract dirt and it doesn't turn yellow and get all sticky like the old oils. I used it when I was fixing them up and use it on all my machines now.

I have one just like this, it was my Grandmothers, it used to be a treadle at one time, it still runs like a charm. Mine dates to 1921/22, I have kept it all these years but haven't used it in a while, maybe it's time to sell it to someone that would.

this is beautiful; I just got a red eye this weekend. It needs the plug wire replace because it's cracked. It's in a cabinet w/knee lift so it's great. I have in the past few months gotten a FW and a treadle, the red eye and another one that looks like the sphinx. I contacted singer with an email; gave them the model numbers and the next day they sent me an email telling me I have 2 (66), a 221 and a 66K machines and they included the birth dates and places where they came from. You may want to contact them. On the web I could only get partial info but not all of it was accurate so I know. My red eye came with the manual and orginal attachments in thier boxes but I'll have to download the rest of the manuals from on line or sometimes you can find them on ebay. Enjoy your machine

I have been looking at a machine I can use with my DGDs, they are five.
Does anyone have a "finger guard" they make for these?
Thanks for any help with the guard! I'm hoping to find a treadle for it. I paid $95, I think I paid a fare price.
Enjoy! I have been so busy with sewing, I'm hoping I can fit this into my life!!!

About the manual, I know that my mom was able to down load the manual on the singer web site. She said it didn't take very long and it is very easy to understand. Not exactly sure where you would find it as I didn't look myself. But she said that is where you would look to find it.
Good luck, Jennifer

What a beauty! To find out the age look on line for the Singer website to get the phone #, just give them the serial # and they will look it up for you. My DH was given a commerial Singer with the model # missing, he found out with the serial # that it was built in 1916!! Needless to say we are having a hard time finding bobbin belt for it.
