Default Refurbished 2 Singer cabinets today

After I came home from picking up a 1950 201-2, I worked on that cabinet and finished the work on the model #65 that goes with my gifted-to-me 301.

The 301's cabinet had water stains, some pealing veneers, and dry, chipping varnish or whatever that finish is. I scrapped all the loose finish off, went over everything with a very fine sanding sponge and tack cloth and then wiped the entire thing down with Howards Restor-a-finish. While that dryed, I did the same thing to the 4-drawer cabinet the 201 came in. I have not found a model number for that one, but it is very similar to the cabinet that my 15-88 is in except that one has irons and a belly drawer. The 201 also has a the spring lift assist which is nice with such a heavy head.

After the Restore-a-finish dried, I went over both with Howards Feed and Wax. Then it was the major pain in the neck to get those cabinets up the 14 steps to my main living level. The 201's foot pedal is hard-wired to the motor so I had to unwire it in order to take the machine out. There was no way I was going to be able to get that cabinet up with the machine in there. That is all done, all the machines are home, and I think the cabinets came out nice.

I think they look wonderful. I have a can of that Howards, but it is just sitting there. I have to wait until
it stops raining every day, so I can take it out on the patio. You did really good.
