Rescued Machines

Rescued Machines
Yard sale find. Both for $5.00. Not the best but think I can restore the one in the cabinet. The other is probably a lost cause but needed the foot control for the one in the cabinet plus any parts I can salvage.

All the parts are there. I will try soaking it to see if I can get the rust loose and get it moving again. I finally got the motor off so a good soaking is next.

According to ISMACS, they are both model 15's. That's good because I can exchange parts if I can salvage anything. The rusted one is from 1952 and if I remember correctly the on in the cabinet is frim 1954.

That looks so labor-intensive. You are so brave. It does make me sad to see machines like that when I come across one. I would never be able to do what you are doing to save one. I have an old one I bought that is in a great-need of repair. I'm hoping it won't be over my head to try to do it. I'm glad you and others do save them, though.
