Default Riccar does anyone know anything about this machine?

This is my first post, so hopefully I am doing this correctly.

I bought this machine yesterday at an Estate Sale for $5. and know nothing about it and furthermore cannot find anything on the internet about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The model or serial # is 23801 Riccar Deluxe Made in Japan. There was no manual or any info with it.

    Thank you

Riccar made some of the very best sewing machines ever. I cried when my trusty Riccar died and still can find no replacement for her on Ebay or any of the online places. Paid $800 in 1974 and she even had 32 stitches built in. Doubt you will find a manual, but since its a Clone you can get one of those manuals easy. Good Luck with your Riccar!

This is a Model 15 clone, which is one of the nicest machines on which to sew, very sturdy, very dependable. You can piece accurately on this machine and then turn around and quilt on it, usually both straight-line and fmq. I have two of them, but not Riccars, although very similar. I love them. Such a nice feel to them. This machine will be a joy to use.
