Ruffler Foot issues with 401a
Hi all,
I have a Singer 401a, which is my 'pet' machine. This weekend I tried using the ruffler foot for the first time. I can see how it works, and had me worried in the beginning with the way it moves and the noises it makes. Really is a true marvel of engineering. My issue is it doesn't appear to be picking up the lower thread. There was only one layer of fabric being fed through, and it did the gathering as desired and the top thread was passed through ok. I know the 401a can be pretty finicky sometimes.
Any ideas on what I could try to make it work properly would be immensely appreciated.
