What a smart handyman you have. Maybe he figures he can help you add on to the house to hold all the goodies... LOL
I love those White machines. If you want you can put a steering wheel spinner knob (also known as suicide knob) on it and hand crank it. Those machines turn so free - I can see why you might want to treadle it, too. Some times you just do things for fun.

Madamekelly, you have obviously been a very, very good woman this year and earned a fabulous reward for your behavior. I didn't think I was much interested in vintage machines other than Singer, until you posted this picture, and now I want to learn more about the White machines and look at lots of pictures. I think your cabinet is gorgeous.
Congratulations on your lovely present, I hope you will post pictures in the new year once you've had the opportunity to clean him/her up.

Madamekelly,
You were gifted with a lovely White Rotary, you must have been very, very good.
I thought I only wanted to use vintage Singer machines, that is until I met Miss Susie, the 1917 White Rotary treadle. It has become one of my favorite machines.

Can you take the controller out of the holder and put it on the floor? Those knee operated controllers are tough on hips & knees of some people, and others love them. Your friend is a good observer of people.
