Singer 101 - Anyone knows anything about this ?
#12
I have a 101. It sewed great, but now needs to be rewired. Mine was born in 1929 and still had the original wiring. It is easy to oil, but checking the brushes and lubing the motor is WAY more difficult than any other vintage machine my DH has worked on. I doubt if I keep it for that reason.
I much prefer my 15-91 and 201. I can do the maintenance on them myself without having to bug DH to do it. As for price, it is not outrageous, but if you are wanting to learn how to maintain a vintage machine, probably not the one to start with.
Let us know what you decide! We are a nosy bunch!
