    Cool Singer 12 problems resolved! She sews! She sews!

    She's wonderful, s'marvelous!
    If you haven't read this saga, it's posted under:

    [h=3]Need help with Singer 12 shuttle :-)[/h]Singer 12, trouble with setting needle :-(
    [h=3]Singer 12, tension trouble[/h]
    So, essentially, I needed help every step of the way and found it with the help of very generous people on this board! (and there was a lot of hand-holding and encouragement that went on too, thank you )

    I should also mention that the "cleaning and restoring furniture" thread helped me with the very grungy base and thanks to Glenn the base is as smooth as silk and very beautiful. (Bentwood top still needs work)

    So, this is a thank-you to everyone, and also an encouragement to those who might be about ready to give up -- you can get by with a little help from your friends!

    Hard to hold the camera steady while doing the happy dance, I think.

    I love how the saga is accompanied by smiley and sad faces, lol. Helps us all see the emotional rollercoaster!

    Congratulations on getting her going! I followed along your threads and I'm glad to see you were able to persevere and get her sewing again!

    Pamela, I finally read through all your Singer 12 threads.... Congrats for hanging in there. I have an old Anker transverse and had no idea how it works. Needle threading was just as iffy, but I got it set up to sew by playing with the needle position. Couldn't believe there is no set mark. In the end I lined up the top of the needle with the top of the clamp.

    What a feeling when you finally get that breakthrough after it wouldn't even grab the bobbin thread at first try..... :-)

    Still want to see photos of your machine :-) .

    (taking a brief pause from the happy dance... looking for just the right smiley )

    Photos are coming. To see it sew we really need a video, and it's pretty hard to crank the machine and steer the fabric AND do the camera! Daughter promised to help me; so tomorrow or the next day!

    In the meantime, here is a photo (she wasn't sewing yet, just sitting there looking pretty):
