One more question, which stitch length are you using for piecing??

On my main sewing machine which is an Elna 7300, the setting is 2.5 (2.5 centimeters) which I believe is 11 or 12 stiches an inch. Went and measured, it is 11 stitches. Hmmm, never measured before and I may program a stictch length of 12 inches for piecing. But I have never had a problem with the seams at the 2.5 setting. For paper piecing I set the stitch length at 1.8 which translates to 13-14 stictches an inch. Some people use a 1.5 setting which is 18 stitches an inch. Since I had never measured (boy those stitches are small!) before I am going to put the info on the dry erase board that came with my Elna and also put the info in my Quilting Notes binder.

for stitch length you move the lever up or down and tighten the knob screw thingy
