and the owner said she even have other sewing machines for sale. i didn't pay too much attention to what she was saying as i am purely interested in her 301A and was so excited to find out that it is still for sale. and this one is a long bed not the short bed model.

I think that is an excellent price, especially if it is the original grass cloth case. Always check that the bobbin holder is there. Let us know the outcome, too often posters leave us hanging. Good luck!

bobbin case is there. seller sent me pics. and the case is in a nice condition. the nice thing is - when i asked for the lowest price possible she said that it's still a possibility but said that it should be done in person and part of their negotiating process. i might be looking at a lower than $50 301A. now if only i can get a hold of my uncle. he promised me and told me that he's willing to get it and drive it here come saturday. he's in the area. i called my uncle, texted and emailed but nothing yet. we will see.

I paid $50 for mine two years ago because it had a horrible picture on Ebay. After cleaning, it was perfect and it came with the original case and some spare parts. Now they are going up like crazy because they have an aluminum frame and are light enough to take to activities. They are the big sister to the Feather Weights. I like mine even better than the FW. I would gladly pay $100, if I had to. They are arguably the next big thing. If I could only have one vintage machine, it would probably be a 301. P.S. I would recommend a roller case or a light plastic case as opposed to the original to save weight.
