So jealous of your good deal! I went to an estate sale in my neighborhood and the lovely New Home Treadle was gone at $95 just an hour after the sale opened. I was hoping no one would see it until the half off last day. Congrats on your good deal!

Lucky one! I love my 401A--56 years old and still humming. Only 1 hospital trip in all those years.

Great deal, indeed! Made me smile because my daddy was a toolmaker at Greist Manufacturing, later called MITE Corporation, where those buttonhole makers were made for Singer, Kenmore and other company names. My mom got to try them out when they first came on the market and I still have a couple of those hanging around at the bottom of my sewing closet. My DH worked there, too, and Dad introduced us. Enjoy your lovely new toys!
