Singer 401A
New here. I been looking for an Active Vintage Sewing machine board. Sew glad i found this!
I have a singer 401A, i been looking for a zipper foot, but I dont like the one that came with my machine, its the adjustable one. Did they make a regular zipper foot for this machine?
also. how do I prevent my bobbin from going haywire when I sew knits or other non woven fabrics?
thanks so much!

Hi SeworDye, welcome to the board!
I'm not sure off the top of my head about the zipper foot, but the first place to check, especially if you're in the US, is sew-classic.com I don't use a zipper foot enough to have a preference.
As for the bobbin going haywire.... can we have a little more information? I don't really know what that means, if the tension is bad, or what?

I have a complete attachment set for the 401a and it only has the adjustable zipper foot. The only other one I have seen is the adjustable invisible zipper foot. Your choices are probably limited to what Singer made, seeing as they were the only company to ever make a slant shank machine.

EW I don't blame you - sew-classic has slant shank feet. http://shop.sew-classic.com/Slant-Sh...tal-161166.htm - get some Tri-flow while you are at it - her bobbins are good too - the ones I found at the box store aren't any good.
