Granted, this might not be a machine that it is "worth" fixing or one that is particularly "liked." However, it could be "worth it" if one wants to gain experience to try to fix something on a machine that one really doesn't care for to gain confidence to work on a variety of machines and gain knowledge of how things work and are connected, etc. There is a degree of satisfaction to be able to say "I did it."

I did find a service manual, that is not free, for the 6200 series of Singer machines at http://www.tandtrepair.com/6233.html
It also has a free parts list and timing guide on that page.

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.

It has the air controller. I have put it aside for the time being, as I have a couple of other ones I'm working on, too.

I'm parting this beast out. Anybody need any parts? I didn't get any accessories with it, and only the one foot, which i will keep for my 401.

My daughter has this machine, originally owned by her husband's grandmother. Is there such a thing as a walking/even-feed foot designed for a slant shank or do we need to have some sort of shank adapter? It stitches very nicely, has the air controller which my daughter seems to like.

My 9020 with a manufacturing date of 1992 uses a feed dog cover.

For stitch width, follow the linkages to see where it might have failed. Hopefully it's just old, dried out grease.
