    Default SINGER 66 stitch regulator guide, see here for stitch length to knob-turns.

    This was checked several times by sewing on lined paper and measuring the setting of the regulator to stitches per inch.

    One turn is 360 degrees, a half turn is 180 degrees on the knob.

    I don't know about you guys but once I wrote this down I was extremely happy! At this point though, as I'm sure some of you have figured out, after a while it's not necessary to know how many turns. You just start to know.

    I wonder if it's the same on my 99? I sort of go by "turn-the-knob-and-test" type of appoach.

    I did this with all of my 66 treadles a couple years ago. Still got the info somewhere. But all my machines varied a little bit from each other. Maybe an age, wear, or tolerance factor.

    Great guide chart thought, thanks for posting it.

    My approach so far too. I never even thought about counting turns. Mostly these days I look for 99s and 66s with reverse. The others aren't bad, I just like the convenience and it's easier to show people new to sewing how to backstitch.

    It's funny that I just realized I only have 1 basic machine. All of my other machines have numbered regulators and reverse stitching. My trusty treadle 66 is the only one that has the knob.

    Thanks for the info! I just got a 128 that needs this, and was just going to guest as well. I'll write this on a 3x5 card and keep it with the machine!
