Default Singer 66 tension assy. Replaced

I replaced the tension assy. For a customer but check spring is too tight. Do you loosen it by turning the entire assy. To the left and re- tighten ser screw?

    Bezzer,

Go here: http://www.tfsr.org/publications/tec...machine_manual , bookmark this site.

Read the section called "The tension mechanism". That should help. This site is a treasure trove of knowledge for those of us who fix our own.
