    Default Singer featherweightCAT 3-120 thread bunching having problems

    I am having all kinds of problems with my Singer Featherweight vintage machine
    thread bunching up or not
    sewing at all. Where can I get help?

    It would be helpful to know what kind of thread and size needle you are using and what you have already done to try to correct the problem.

    The first questions I always ask is are you sure the needle is in correctly? Flat side to the left, thread it right to left. Are you sure you threaded the machine correctly? re thread it to be sure. Did you put the bobbin in the bobbin case correctly? The thread goes in bobbin coming off counter clockwise. Have you removed the needle plate recently? When you put it back the finger on the bobbin case base has to be in the slot on the underside of the needle plate. Is the bobbin case fully seated in the machine? And finally, are you holding on to your thread tails for the first few stitches?

    Cari has given all of the tips you will need, I think. Sounds like it to me. Read her and do all of it before you quit.

    and By the way You have the model of your motor listed. Not the machine It is a 221 or it could be a 222 if you are lucky enough to have a free arm. Welcome to the board.
