Treadle space is precious, I'd have to pass. IF I had a huge empty polebarn I'd probably still look for something better.

I think this is a repro.
Reproduction cabinets are available but they are expensive. I think the Amish might make them. My 1912 sphinx Singer 27 treadle is in a cabinet with 3 drawers on each side. Unfortunately it's not in very good condition because it was left in a not so climate controlled old barn for many years. It was utilized by my grandfather to sew sacks for cotton picking.

I have no problem with reproductions, as long as they are sold as reproductions. That being said, if Singer resumes manufacturing model 25s using the original plans, it really can't be called a reproduction; it would be a new model 25 with a current release date. All that should be traceable in the Singer records. One would have to have the serial number to verify. Singer company is still Singer company regardless of who owns it today or who has owned it in the past. The question would be how much of the company's past was bought by today's owners - whoever and wherever they are located. Does the current company own all plans and manufacturing rights to the 100+ yo machines? If so they can produce as many of them as they wish.

The current company that owns Singer is VSP. They "own" Viking, Singer and Pfaff.

I personally don't like that decal pattern, to me it looks like it's not positioned correctly on the arm of the machine.

Shirley - only needs to be vintage if you want to crow about it on this board LOL!!
