Sometimes those people who run the sales need educating. I always make a point to warn them about people stealing the bobbin case, so that they will keep it back until asked about.

P.S. I did once walk home from an estate sale with a FW. It had not been advertised in the sale and hadn't been removed from its box for display. They had it is the room used as an office, and the case looked like it may have contained a projector or camera set-up of some kind.

It was a happy day for me except that it started sprinkling during the sale. I asked for a walmart bag and covered it the best I could. It was only about 6 blocks, but I was worried that the case might get too wet.

Maybe someone will have one for sale this summer at the Pacific Northwest TOGA being held in Auburn.

In my area, items at Estate Sales are usually overpriced the 1st day. However, the sellers will bargain and take less if they are offered a reasonable amount, especially later in the afternoon. On day 2 the original prices are usually reduced by 50%. Don't hesitate to bargain as it is expected.

There was one in the pictures for an estate sale that was today. I didn't even go look... I have two and wonder why. I bought into the hype, way back when. I paid $20 for one, because it was a little froze up, but I got it working again. I paid $80 for another at a local auction house. There are millions that were made and most all of them are still out there, still running.

I got mine from a junk store for $60 with lots of attachments, but no case. I see a lot of them on our local Craig's list and Facebook market place for the $400-$500 dollar range. No way would I pay that kind of money for one. They're cute and fun to play with, but not That much fun.

I haven't been watching lately, but they were going in the $200.00 to $275.00 range on shopgoodwill.com, depending on condition and accessories.

I repair and recondition Featherweights. You can buy them at junk prices but parts to fix them aren't cheap.
You can run the investment up real quick with just a few parts. A motor will be $100.00, bobbin case $40.00,
rotating hook $50.00, etc. I never sell one with good decals and tuned up for less than $300.00. And yes they
will sell for that.
