Default So disappointed I missed buying this gorgeous set!

I was prepared to drive to Minneapolis to buy this beauty and then the weather plunked out on me so I had to wait a day and the guy said he would hold it for me but then sold it. It was a 7 hour round trip drive for me and I was going to include a first time visit to
ikea. Makes me tearful! I have several 15-91's so that's no big deal, but I have repeatedly tried to buy a matching bench and seem to always be one person too late! This set is lovely. Sniff!

Haha, thanks. I wish I could believe that. I have been actively searching for 3 years and this is the ONLY one I have seen in this condition. Pooh! How about y'all keep an eye out for me. That many eyes out there has to count for something, right?

That is so wrong. It seems some people are very "relaxed" about keeping their word these days. At least you didn't waste your trip.

Yeah. I was even waiting for him to send me his paypal #. I was gonna pay for it so he knew I was serious. But you can imagine .....it is very clean and I am sure he had lots of calls. Thing is he is the one who told me he would hold it. I didn't beg him. Sigh. Oh well gotta move on I guess. But it will be another how many years to find another. Now here us the unbelievable part....$90 for the whole setup. Probably why it didn't wait for me. I wanted for my personal use. Someone probably bought it to resell.

I can understand what you mean about the matching bench. I was so disappointed when I did not look for the matching bench to mine when my mother gave it to me. My parents never threw anything away, but my sister said they did get rid of the bench years before, the cushion on top needed to be replaced so they got rid of it.

I think that must happen a lot because I rarely see a bench with the cabinet.

That is a beautiful set! I have the 15-91 in the art deco cabinet but it did not come with the bench either. Tried to buy one a few days ago but someone beat me to it. I did finally get one today but it wasn't quite as nice as the first one and I think I over paid for it but since they seem to be a bit hard to track down, I just bit the bullet. Seems like those art deco ones are harder to find? Anyway, sorry for your loss as they say but hopefully something better will come along. I agree with Rodney. If people give their word, they should keep it. The least the guy could have done was call you to make sure you were still coming because he had other offers. Bummer!

That's very unfortunate but I'm sure the "other" buyer offered a few more $$ & obviously that was more important than keeping "his word". I find it quite sad that we are so ruled by the almighty $$$.
