Question Sovereign sewing machine. information please

Hello! I found this machine from my attic and it made me curious - is it antique sewing machine or not, does it have any value etc?

It is a clone of the Singer 15's, made in Japan and badged tons of different names. Some times a store name, sometimes just any old name that might make a person buy a machine.

I have one the same color as yours, badged Kaiser.
I think they date to the 50-60's, value pretty minimal. But for finding in your attic, priceless What else is in there??

there is a thread in the vintage machine forum showing just 15 clones, amazing variety.

I could be dead wrong about it all though...an 'expert' will be by soon with links.

I agree with Kalama, it's a Japanese made 15 clone. Moneywise, not a huge value. It's not an antique, but "vintage" and as a 15 copy is probably a great machine. You should get it cleaned up and oiled and try it out.

Looks just like my Dressmaker with a slightly different blue paint job. I bought mine for less than $10.

    Is that a hand crank?

Neat find! Does the attic have any more goodies-? The vintage machines can be cleaned and serviced by you!
    Usually sew really well.

    Mirkko,

    Welcome to the QB.

Your machine is not uncommon, or an antique. It is a bit different since it has a matching hand crank attached and to some folks that does add a bit of value. I know if I'd found it in my attic I'd be tickled silly.

It's greatest value is as a really good sewing machine.

My manufacturer chart skips right over the J-C 20 code. And it doesn't list the LIBERTY brand either. So I can't help as to the maker. Is there an additional J-A number on it somewhere? That might help.

    Joe

The matching hand crank is something I hadn't seen before on a 15clone! It would def raise the value to ME!!
