The start of my "All Machines" denim quilt.

Joe,
Is that a cathedral windows pattern on the reverse and is it a quilt as you go? I really like the large one your wife made.
A friend who is a rep for a fabric company gave me scads of large samples of denim (blue, brown and tan.) Am definitely going to try what you guys did, but need to decide on some interesting fabrics for the windows. Thanks so much for sharing. Kisykeel

Another QB member posted the directions a few days ago. I want to do one in flannel, I think. I hadn't thought about fleece. That's a really good idea, Elaine.

The pattern was totally by accident. It was what I had cut up from a bunch of old jeans at the time. I used a circle that was the top to the carryout containers from where I was working for the pattern size.
I have been told that it is a Cathedral pattern by others. I got the idea from another forum we are on as a challenge to finish just one project that year. LOL
I don't think this would qualify as a quilt as you go. I just kept adding more circles around the outside edges until I got the size dimensions that I wanted.

Update Saturday 7-7-12
Well, since I've last posted on my quilt thread I've decorated squares with our 401A, the Ideal Automatik, and the Alden.
Here's what the Ideal Automatik did:
After finishing the patterns with the Alden I decided I'd try the 5 cord foot we bought some time back.
I put the foot on and my wife brought a bunch of rolls of brightly colored thread. I had to use a pointy tweezer to get the threads through the holes but it worked.
Here's a pic of the start of the test square.
I wanted to see how 5 threads would go around the corners and it worked very well. Old hat to some I'm sure, but new and interesting to me. Next one I do will be with the invisible thread and at least one more bright color. The gold / black variegated just didn't show up.
Here's the finished square:
More updates later.
