One of the quilt shops I frequent has on similar and belongs to the owner who got it from her great grandmother. It sits behind the counter in a locked glass cabinet. A couple smaller sewing machines are in the cabinet also. She said those were samplers that salesman used and her great grandfather was a sewing machine salesman. It's in her blood. If I had an extra $125.00 and extra room, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

I would pay good money to have ANYONE show me evidence of the existence of Sewing machine "Salesmans samples"... Especially a Singer one....

I have seen this label being applied to everything from Toy machines, to industrial chain-stitching machines.

To my knowledge and to the best of my research capabilities, there NEVER was one.

One of my personal pet peeves....

I've contacted the guy twice, hopefully he will get back to me. The add is still up. Now that Steve has identified what it is, I looked them up, yes, this is a pre 1900 machine that was made in Canada? I will try to get it.

Never heard back from the guy. Oh well. I really didn't need another decoration on my porch.
