Cecilia, I haven't tried the satin stitch yet, but the zigzag stitch is the nicest I've ever seen!
Pat, I can't say I'm moving easily between my 5 sewing machine. I, too, keep my manual on hand. I didn't inherited any of my sewing machine, but if I had, I would use it more often. I'm more attached to the ones I got directly from the previous owner (instead of getting them second hand from the son, daughter, friend who never sewed on it)

We do not have bargains like that too often. Last time I saw a bargain like that, a friend of mine was looking for a machine for her granddaughter's b-day. Found one at an estate sale for $60.00 with manual and all feet and box of fabric. little girl was delighted. She's only 8 and has been sewing since 4-5. Just about everything. plus quilts.

Congratulations. I saw keep them all if you have room for them. You may have a need for one of them in the future or want to gift one to someone down the road. I love all my machines. Took one of mine to a daughter's home and when I go visit I am able to fix thengs for them.

When my daughter turned 16, I gave her a used Bernina 730. She just loved it! No more wrestling with the Singer touch and throw. She said it was the very best present ever. She used it to sew all the costumes she makes; had it for 6 years and fell in love with my 930(she had to find her own). Ten years later she's still sewing, but with a Bernina 930; someone else bought the 730. I taught her to sew using my Bernina 1031, spoiled the child for any other brand of machine.
