There is more to the equation than just the amp of the motor. I have machines with wimpy motors using friction drive wheels that will sew through and over 8 layers of denim. Others with bigger motors using belt drives that simply stall when they hit a double seam of normal fabric.
However I'd be willing to bet that machine of yours will sew very nicely through most anything.

I think one of my most powerful, vintage machines is the blue 15 clone I'm selling. It's 1.3 or 1.4 and I have to say it doesn't make a difference. In fact, I don't care for it...so I agree with Joe about the large amps not all there is in the equation.

Joe - Sure and I know that. Part of it's just how much frictional losses you'll get in the machine (I remember something on the treadlon site about how hard the Pfaff 130 is to treadle -vs- machines like the 66.) It's just a buzzword thing to impress the people who brag about the 1.3amp motor on their 130
Personally I think the 130 is a nicer looking machine (read, shiny black) but this is interesting.
