Trouble finding the right belt for vintage Kenmore 158.152 sewing machine
I’m fixing my grandmothers old sewing machine. It hasn’t worked for years and I told her I would fix it up for her. It just had a bad switch.
However, the belt is shot.
After looking up the owners manual I see the part number is 60902, which isn’t available, but that number is listed as a replaced part number.
Anyway, they all are for 14.5” or 14.75” belts.
when I cut the old belt and measured it, it was 19.5” long.
So do I just buy a 19.5” belt and not worry about it?
I’m just wondering what I’m missing here.
thanks for any help and advice.

Welcome. We have a section here on Quilting Board that is for Vintage machine enthusiast at https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...thusiasts-f22/
I initially thought that was a very long length for a sewing machine belt. I found that indeed the 158.152 does take a long belt - possibly 60904. It was nice that you had one to measure. I found https://www.sewingmachinedepot.com/l...otor-belt-fits and https://www.amazon.com/19-3-Positrac.../dp/B0711N2NVF and https://www.vintagesingerparts.com/p...aces-part-6914
Maybe you would like to join us over at https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...thusiasts-f22/ and post some pictures of your grandmother's machine.
We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.
I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of quilt block ID?
