An unexpected discovery!!
Hello to all,
Greetings from the frozen deep south! Temps are 28 degrees and will be falling for the next 16-20 hrs. Me thinks me may move north to a warmer climate, say Ohio or Montana lol. Well a few months back my sister calls an said to come by and see a machine she found in her garage. It turns out to be a Free-Westinghouse brown crinkle finish rotary?? I have never seen it before and she said that she thinks that mom taught how to sew on it back in the late 1940's. I disagreed saying that mom had a White machine into the late 50's. So she gives it to her little brother(me)for my collection. It was a little rough having been stored for so many years, but I was able to clean and oil her up and she sews. Now this brown Free did not do well with all these black Singers wondering what the heck is that brown thing doing among us. An idea came to me that what the Free needed was a friend, so off to E-bay it was where I found this lovely Free in brown crinkle finish. Now the original Free had a friend and was happy, happy, happy!! Now after being with all the Singers for several months the Singers realized the Frees were not so different after all, just one happy family of sewing machines! Now for the discovery. The one given to me by my sister is a cast iron machine and the second Free is an aluminum casting. How neat is that.

I am about 45 mi WNW of New Orleans, La. It looks like a little snow is starting to fall, lots of sleet. A lot of bridges are closed due to icing. Temp is now 26 and continues dropping. Was 70 2 days ago.

hmm. And we're having a water drought here in California as it has not been raining for the past couple of months now. And it's currently 48deg. here always sunny and no rain nor snow(in the mountains).
