I'm having a hard time posting pics. I don't know why. My phone or my camera both say "unable to upload" or something to that effect.
Thanks, I'll keep looking. It's that little piece that the thread goes through. I believe it is the last one before you thread the needle.

Right, that's it. The minute I took it off I remembered the repair guy told me not to touch them
I'm so mad at myself right now!

Note these are under web archives. They were saved in history.

You have to be a member to get the manual sections now from the existing website. If I were you, anyone, I would download each section now. Manual is from a non profit in England. I actually copied each section and if it referred to more than one model, I put copies in each machine's folder. I also printed the sections and made one manual.

It is amazing the tools that are out there.

On the 201 the last thread guide is a tiny piece that goes on in a groove under the needle clamp, and it's a bit of a fuzz to get it back on, but not impossible. I hope it turns up again, if it's in a cabinet look under there, it might have slided down a crack or something. Extra light and glasses on always helps ;- ) Someone here once recommended vacuuming with a nylon stocking treaded to the end of the hose.

Here's what I did: after another sweeping I decided to see if I could find one online. I did- around 6.00- for me it's worth it. If I find the other one so be it.
I also found a video on how to put it back. The guy had it leaning on a board, so it was tilted. So hopefully, this will have a happy ending. It's a really nice machine. I remember my Mom had the same one when I was little but don't know what happened to it. Thanks for all your help!!
PS- no, it's not in a cabinet

It's bound to turn up though, unless you have a hole in the floor ;- )

Nice to hear it's replaceable, most parts on these old straight stitchers tend to be, but it can take a bit of time and searching. My 201 is in a table, and it has turned out to be my favorite machine.
