We have three treadle machine cabinets and each one has a water mark/stain on the top because people would often place a vase or something there. This one is in great condition. Definitely a good deal!

I sure wish I lived nearby, I would definitely snap that up. I need a tredle cabinet for my mother's old tredle machine that was converted in the 50's to an elec. machine. When we moved from Tx. in the late 50's we left the cabinet and other furniture here, and when we moved back Mother did not take the cabinet when we sold our home. I could kick myself so many time for not getting it myself, but I had my own machine in a cabinet and no room for it. Mother passed away in 1990, and I have her old machine, and have been looking for a cabinet for several years. No one really wants to part with one, and we don't have many places around here to find one. If you decide to purchase it and don't want it later, pm me please.

Maybe not an original decal, but what a gorgeous cabinet!

To me the decal looks like a bicentennial decorating project from the 1970s...but it's still a really nice cabinet!

Whether it's original or not, it's an ingenious and beautiful idea. Luckily for you, I'm too far away! I think I've seen a picture somewhere of an identical cabinet without the decal, but that wouldn't rule out the possibility that it was optional when new. The designs that were made for the Bicentennial were often based on earlier ones. Also, it's already been 37 years since the Bicentennial, so a decal in such good shape from that era deserves some respect. The nation celebrated the Sesquicentennial in the 1926, so that could have been an occasion for decorating the table in that way. It will be great if more information emerges. In any case, it seems to me that when anything goes together that effectively, it's an added value, especially if it suits your style.

It wouldn't matter if the decal is original, surely a very nice looking to keep and/or a very pretty fixture or Decor on Studio or Sewing or Craft Room, a good buy!
