$0 to what ever folks are willing to pay.
Sorry, but this is not an appraisal board. We are here to help each other with our love of and respect for old machines, not to help folks sell stuff. (It is actually against the boards policies...)

that serial number belongs to the lot that was 127 made in 1925. So I'd say it's likely a sphinx decal, which is about the most common one you can find. So unless it's in wonderful condition (and NOT for it's age, it needs to look almost new) it's not collectable, just a neat old machine to have and use. It is very usable, and parts are easy to get.
And since you say "old rusty" then if you can get over $10 for it, you are doing well. Now if the table is really nice, you might get $50 if someone wants to put a different machine in it, but only if it's one of the more sought after tables in very nice condition. And another note - if she's got the bench, it's probably worth more than the machine and table. Benches are much harder to find.

Pretty much what the others have said. Old and rusty plus the serial number says common. Not a good combination if you want a bunch of money. Markets vary by region too. The last old, rusty, common Singer I bought I paid $5.00 for at an auction. I was the only bidder. I bought another one, older and similar to yours in a treadle table for $25.
The best thing your friend can do is study their local Craig's List and try to get an idea of asking price for similar machines in that condition. Just keep in mind asking price and selling price are two entirely different things. Old sewing machines can be a tough sell.

Ditto and give it to some one who'll rehab it and put it back into use.
