Good luck finding an FZ2 for a good price. The one in this thread is the only one I've seen that sold for less than a small fortune. My son paid a fortune and then some for mine for my birthday just to get me to quit whining, lol.

No, they're not common but they're not as uncommon as I once thought. I had never seen anything like it when I got mine about 5 or 6 years ago but I'd say in the last 3 years or so I've seen at least a dozen of them, they seem to be coming out of the wood work so to speak. I've also seen a white one once, that's on my short list now.

Cari,
HELP...I just bought this machine and mine is also LOCKED up. I don't see any threads, the motor sounds fine but the hand wheel is totally locked up. I have the owners manual, but not a repair manual. Can't figure this out?????? HELP she is such a cute machine, too cute to be a door stop

The service manual is posted to the https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/...gmachines/info, unless someone has removed it. It will be in the files section for free download. You probably have to sign up to access the files.
Also, Cari will show up. Give her a day or two.

Bkay is right about the service manual. You really should have it for this machine. It's in the files of the Yahoo group and also in the files of the Facebook group 'Vintage Sewing Machines (Non Singer)'. I tried to send it to you by private message here but I can't attach a PDF file. Pay attention in the user manual on how to set the controls too. I still have to get the manual out and refresh my memory when I use one of mine.
I almost wonder if the controls are stuck part way between settings and that has the hand wheel locked up. Both of mine were real stiff when I got them but not frozen. It took a lot of time oiling and running them to loosen things up but they're still kind of stiff running. I just don't use them enough.
