Default vintage electric singer sewing machine

My friends went to a garage sale, where the young girls were disposing of their grandmothers estate. The young ladies, advised my friend, the singer machine doesn't work, so they gave it to her a year ago. This past year my friend retired and decided to downsize - she called me and asked if I would like this machine and she brought it over. I retreaded the sewing machine, and it does work very well. It also had many attachments, I have already used the ruffler to make a bedskirt, sews just like a new machine. We really lucked out with this machine and cover, they are in pristine condition....

Wow what a beautiful machine!!
If I am not mistaken it looks like a 128 with a centenial badge... What is the serial number? Is she one of the last of her kind or a mid-century refurbishment?

That's why she looks familiar. I sold a blackside 128 last year. This one looks bigger than mine, but it's hard to tell with nothing else in the picture.

I'd love to find one of these also...can't imagine that someone didn't know how to thread it correctly. Was the manual with it?

Yes. the manual came with the machine, along with a terrific variety of items. Apparently the young ladies at the garage sale weren't interested in sewing.

A lof of folks freak out if they see the shuttle. Singer made 128s into the 1960s.

I was tinkiering on a freind's Sewmor clone yesterday and found a long bobbin. I was happy when she offered it to me..

Ours sometimes go to handcrank demos.
