    I think it's probably pretty easy to tell the difference. I haven't seen them side by side but from what I've read you can tell. Plus the foot control is different.

    There were hundreds of thousands of featherweights made. They are showing up because people are looking for them. They show up as the original owners pass or move or stop sewing and they are given to family or sold at estate sales. They bring a pretty penny for someone who has no interest using one themselves.

    The reason it is SOW expensive is because you can "SOW" a field of corn/cotton, etc. with it like a tractor!! LOL
