But it looks like the one the older sister (Meg, maybe) uses in "Little Women" movie in the colorized version. That explains the price.

Actually it was a typo. (Always pays to be polite and inquisitive...)

They said $200 on the phone, when I got there and they could tell that I was disappointed that it was not pre-1900, they dropped the price to $100. I said SURE.

Has manual, notes, and stuff that I will examine closer when I get home from work.

Steve, that is interesting that they thought to save the sewing machine!! That would be my priority and the important papers file. Furbabies will need to run out the door by themselves to be saved. Great provenance on this machine.

Remember that these units cost the equivalent of 1/2 a years salary for most folks.

Also, just as an FYI - I sent a message to the curator of the SFmuseum just to be sure it was illegitimately acquired.

Great job getting that machine ... and the price ... what a bonus.

I believe you mean "legimately acquired" ?? ... or would it be more interesting otherwise??

I'd rather have sour kraut and spinach pizza for dinner than that thing sitting in my living room ... or neighborhood.
