    I've totally got a weed wacker he could take for that. It's worth about $.50 too.

    Probably because he has delusions of grandeur like all other lay people. He sees an old sewing machine and immediately thinks he has stumbled onto a gold mine!

    I wish I had seen this thread earlier. There was an ad on CL from someone that got a Singer at a garage sale and was selling it. He had a picture in the ad but said that it was not of his machine that he was selling, but similar to the one pictured. He wanted $7,000.00 for it.
