    I can see removing paint from a machine that needs it ... but re-paint it (or sell as a "needs repaint", not a "cool bare metal" machine). Then again .. he might be playing to the steampunk crowd.

    But poly on the wood?? And he didn't even bother to repair the veneers first. I suspect he also just slapped the poly right over the existing finish.

    LOL Steve. You are right. That machine is a pretty machine and auntpigglypn is right too, it does look like it was well taken care of and hardly used. I would like to have that machine. Too far for me to drive from Chicago to go look at it though.

    Singer and sewing machine seem to be the same thing for lots of folk.
