I'm 99% sure it's the new "smart phones", especially the iPhone. They aren't smart enough to tell you which side is up, but let you take the pic in whichever way is more natural to you, and then auto rotate when you view them.

Websites (kijiji, craigslist, etc) are not equipped to auto rotate. This means when you post your "right side up on your phone" pic, it's upside down because that's how it was taken, and stored. Wordpress does it too. I figured out what was happening when I posted a pic on my website, then thought, "wha? It's upside down...." Of course, I fixed it before posting the blog post...

I'm rich! I'm rich! I have whole drawersful of these things!

    ...Oh, wait. I'm *not* rich.

I don't think this person is going to get what they think they are: http://norfolk.craigslist.org/for/3832109320.html Although, that hook and retainer ring might worth the $10, if you know what machine it goes to.

Looks as if it's a 15 clone. It's either in very great condition or is a total make-over. I'm guessing the latter. It is beautiful, but, not $3000 beautiful, and not even $300 beautiful. However, drop two zeros and I'm interested.

it reminds me of the Singer "re-makes" or whatever they were called that were made in Taiwan, China and India (under Singer license) in the 70's (?). Some of those were sold as treadles I believe. Could explain the absense of any kind of locomotion mechanism.

He is very HIGH. At least $2,500 High! Steve, if you contact the seller you might want to point out that it is a Mercedes Sewing Machine and not the Mercedes car.
