Vintage Kenmore machine - no tension plates?

If I think I am having trouble with one of these tension assemblies, I just grab the entire faceplate off a working 15 or clone. One screw and my test is ready. If you find a whole faceplate with the tension that can be an easy replacement. but will likely lose your striated pattern.
