I was refamiliarizing myself with my Necchi Lydia preparatory to beginning quilting, and I noticed a numbered mystery knob. It's the speed control! That was a nice surprise, or I'd competely forgotten about it. Lol, maybe getting old(er, lol) will be more fun than I thought.

Do you have a vintage machine that has a speed control? I mean aside from the pedal, of course.

Ok, I'll start. Necchi Supernovas have a high/ low switch.

The spelling suggester on my phone helpfully gave me Supernovae as a choice, lol.

My White Electronic 970 (late 60's or early 70's) has a speed control dial on the top. Very nifty machine- has the atomic symbol etched into the cover for the bobbin compartment.

My Bernina 730 Record has a switch on the motor for high speed and slow speed. Not all of the old Bernina models have it, but several of them do.

As it turns out, I have a Janome plug with a foot controller that has a high/low switch. I had it for quite awhile and didn't know which machine it was made for. I found a Necchi 6030 Omega that it will work with - sort of. The Omega has a high/low switch, too. If I have both on low, the machine doesn't work, but I can switch either to get the machine to work. I also have a Necchi Logica 592 that has a slow/fast slider.
