Default Vintage Pfaff 1222e needle question

I have a Pfaff 1222e, is it necessary to use needles specifically made by the company who makes a particular machine. Pfaff needles for Pfaff machine, Brother needles for Brother machine etc.? Thanks

Welcome. No, you don't have to use the manufacturers branded needles. You just have to use the right system numbered needles. The type and size are dependent on the fabric and thread that is used. I found a decent description of various needles at https://www.schmetzneedles.com/learn...edle-chart.pdf (This illustrates the correct system needles for the Pfaff 1222e.
