Kathie you are welcome. That little FW might take a 50 wt poly, but the thread you had in it was too heavy a thread. I have never tried anything heavier than a 50 wt in the old machines. I doubt so much it is the type of thread that makes a difference, but the weight of the thread. I think a 50 wt poly would work fine, but no embroidery thread.

I have had a Singer 66, serial #AK886098, for about 6 months now. I've loved sewing on it and use it lots. Now I can't get the needle to pull up the bobbin thread.

I was sewing last week and my top thread broke, I re-threaded the needle, sewed about 18" and it broke again, I re-threaded the entire top thread,and changed the needle, sewed about 12" and it broke again, took the bobbin out, oiled it per instruction manual, and now it won't pull the bobbin thread up. Everything in the bobbin case moves. I've re-threaded both top and bobbin several times. If any of you have any suggestions I'd really appreciate.

I have used plain old white vinegar, soaked for a short time and rinsed & dried well. Vinegar is acidic and does take off the minor rust problems, AND it's non-toxic. I couldn't find Evaporust anywhere here.

Hey Nancy, yepper, it's the same thing as the W & G machines (chainstitcher only, and really cute) but just made by a different company.

It doesnt take that much for a sewing machine but the smallest amount it comes in is pints. I could get 2 or 3 machines depending on the size of them out of a pint.

I have some machines that I have painted in my PDA and there are a few of them scattered about through out the board. But I will post a couple here so you can see what they look like.

I got up with the intention of snapping pics of my MM room and my machines to post and I cannot find my camera to save myself. I thought I could walk right to the spot where it always is, but today it's not there and I can't figure out where I put it. Now I know why I collect sewing machines reather than something small, they don't hide from me.....
